Growing a relationship with God starts with a willingness to go deeper through PRAYER. It can be intimidating, but it’s simply a way to communicate with God, so He can help and empower us in every aspect of our lives. GOD’S WORD. The Bible is God’s message to humanity. It teaches us who we are and why He created us. WORSHIP. Listening to worship music and singing those songs over our lives is a great way to connect our hearts with God. MESSAGE. Listening to sermon messages allows us to understand God’s Word with theological and relatable content. COMMUNITY. We believe that getting connected with other believers is crucial to your growth as a child of God. Life is better together!
PRAYER
Prayer is communicating with God. That can mean thanking Him, praising Him, confessing something you’ve done wrong or expressing a need you have. It can mean talking to Him as you would to a friend.
Learning how to pray is really about developing a relationship with God. Relationships are built on moments of connection and communication. But how do you do that with the God of the universe?
Prayer is a supernatural activity. It’s talking with a God who is unlike anyone else. He has a personality and qualities you can understand and relate to, but you cannot expect to relate to God in exactly the way you might to a close friend or family member. He’s so much bigger and more incredible than that.
Even if talking honestly with other people comes naturally to you, it’s understandable if talking with God feels like a steep learning curve. In fact, the disciples — Jesus’ closest followers — only asked Jesus a few questions about how to do something, one of which was “teach us how to pray.”
WHAT IS PRAYER?
People often say that prayer is just talking to God as you would to anyone else. It’s true that a relationship with God contains many of the same ingredients as other relationships. But there is at least one unique factor: you can’t rely on the senses of sight, sound or touch to connect with God.
But prayer is more about talking with God than talking to Him.
WHY SHOULD WE PRAY?
First, to be a Christian is to believe God invited you into a personal relationship with Him and to accept that invitation.
Saying that you can experience being a Christian in the way God intended without learning to pray is like saying you can be happily married or have a deep friendship without regular communication.
But maybe the question is not why should Christians pray, but why should they want to?
Here are four great reasons to pray as a Christian:
- You want to tell God how much you love Him and why.
- You need to say “I’m sorry” for specific actions or attitudes.
- You want to thank God.
- You want to bring a concern to God and ask Him to help.

GOD’S WORD
The Bible, both the Old and New Testaments, are verbally inspired of God and are the revelation of God to man, the infallible, authoritative rule of faith and conduct.
You can download a free Bible app for your smartphone or tablet by clicking the Bible icon below.
It is important that you establish a habit of reading the Bible daily and allow it to reveal God’s plan for you and your life. Here are links to a couple of devotionals to help you get started.
WORSHIP
Listening to “worship music” is a great way to keep your mind focused on God. There are a number of free and paid options for streaming worship music. Here are a few:
In addition to connecting with your computer, all of these resources also offer free smartphone apps, so you can listen any time and anywhere.
Our worship team here at Fountain of Life Church have created a Spotify playlist of “the songs we sing”. Accessing this playlist is easy – just get a free Spotify account and then click this link to get the playlist. MESSAGES
In addition to reading God’s Word and communicating with God through prayer, it’s important to get an understanding of what God’s Word is saying. Each week at the Fountain of Life Church, Pastor Joe or a guest speaker brings a sermon message to the church. We archive these messages and make them available to you to watch or listen afterwards.
You can find those messages on our website (the Sermons tab on the menu). These same messages are available in the Fountain of Life Church mobile app. We have also created an audio podcast that you can add to your favorite podcast app.
COMMUNITY
Simply put, life is better together. We were created for community. At Fountain of Life Church, we believe that Community is crucial to your growth as a believer. We encourage you to get connected within our community so that we can help support you along your journey.
ROOTED
The Rooted experience redefines how people live life and view their relationship with God and others, giving context to what it means to be a part of something bigger. You will begin to see God in new ways, allowing you to experience a different way of life: community, authenticity and generosity.
It is a ten-week interactive experience. You will meet weekly with your group to talk about what God has been revealing to you as you go through the week’s readings, journal entries, and prayer. You will also learn from one another as the Holy Spirit works to comfort, encourage and guide each member.
Your group will share two experiences together outside of your group time: a prayer experience and a serve experience. After the last session, you’ll join together with other groups and your Fountain of Life Church family to celebrate how God is working to connect each of you with your passion, your purpose, and your community.
LIFE GROUPS
At the conclusion of the Rooted experience, we invite your group to stay together as a Life Group – a small group connected and committed to learning and growing together in God.
We want to connect you to God, the Church and your Purpose.
